Our programs

Two programs, both active today.

Both built on direct, person-to-person contact. Both year-round. Both growing.

I.
Current program
Active since spring 2025

Clothing & basic material support.

Coats, sleeping bags, gloves, toques, sheets, blankets, and the basics of everyday life. Handed out directly, person to person.

Most of what we distribute comes from donations through family, friends, and community members. Local hotels contribute gently used sheets, towels, and blankets. When the supply doesn't match a specific need, we cover the gap ourselves. On more than one occasion we've noticed someone without shoes, asked their size, bought a pair, and returned to deliver them. The same with shirts, jackets, and other essentials.

Distribution happens weekly, with additional ad hoc response wherever we encounter someone in immediate need. We keep clothing in our vehicles so we can respond on the spot.

The recipients are people experiencing poverty or other immediate material need. We don't require paperwork. The people we serve have a visible material need that these items provide.

II.
Current program
AHS-certified, January 2026

Community-based naloxone distribution.

Naloxone saves lives.

Naloxone kits placed directly into the hands of neighbours, bystanders, and families. Person to person, because overdose response is local and immediate.

Overdoses happen. When we witness one, we call EMS first so paramedics can be dispatched and the responder can guide first aid and naloxone administration on the line. Having a kit on hand at the scene can make a meaningful difference in those critical first minutes.

Our distributors are certified through Alberta Health Services' Community-Based Naloxone Program. We carry kits with us during distribution work and in daily life, ready to respond to an overdose or to place a kit in the hands of someone who asks.

The recipients of the naloxone program are people at risk of opioid overdose, which includes but is not limited to individuals experiencing homelessness. We provide kits to anyone in a position to use them to save a life, regardless of housing or employment status.

Ahead

More to come.

As Compassion Culture Charity grows, we plan to expand into adjacent areas of practical, person-to-person support. We'll add programs to this page as they become real, sustained operations. We're deliberate about this. We'd rather under-promise and deliver than the other way around.
